The Charity’s mission: In memory of Olivia Perkins whose life ended at 8 months old, we aim to improve the health and happiness of children by raising funds for Sydney Children’s Hospital and building playgrounds for children of all abilities to play side by side.

When the weather cools down in Sydney and we get these delightful Autumn days, you would think things should start to get a bit more relaxed and quieter at Cool Cocktails. Well, in a way they do – what could be more relaxing than spending an afternoon mixing up a new range of flavours? That’s what we did today, we mixed and tried out four new cocktails.

Now, I’m not going to reveal the flavours because we’re still in taste test phase. Oh and also because the best of the four is destined to become a signature cocktail at one of the key venues in Sydney. More about that later!

Test taste phase is where we mix everything up in relatively small batches, but still large enough to freeze properly. Then comes the part that for some strange reason seems to bring friends out of the woodwork – the actual tasting part. Yes, I guess we are pretty relaxed for the taste testing. But it makes sense, because the people who will be enjoying the perfected cocktails should be quite relaxed and in a party frame of mind too.

So, here’s to the end of another busy day in the Cool Cocktails studio – Cheers!

If you watched the BBC (via ABC) coverage of the Royal Wedding last night, you’ll have seen the interview with the gents making cocktails at the University of St Andrew’s (where the couple first met). They mixed up a range of lovely fresh fruit juices, poured over ice and served in a gigantic bowl-shaped glass. Yum.

Mad Men Cocktail Culture for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad on the iTunes App Store. An  iPhone app for mixing cocktails?  This just looks like fun!  Has anyone tried it?  We confess we’re still waiting on our iPhone to arrive so haven’t tried it ourselves … yet.

Cool Cocktails has been “under new management” for just over a year and since we feel we have the hang of the products now we are introducing a few updates to the brand. Originally established around 20 years ago to serve frozen cocktails at the Bacardi summer festival in Sydney, Cool Cocktails has built a reputation for quality and consistency that is second to none in Sydney.
We are establishing this blog as a way of providing helpful information not just about cocktails but about parties in general in Sydney. You can expect to find a variety of items on this blog from Cocktail of the Month to product launch previews to top tips on how to throw a party.
